Sometimes as Christians we get even more weighted down by
our failures and comparing ourselves to others than non-believers. I think
that’s because we can’t be perfect but we feel pressure from the world to be
perfect. Understand this though, whether you can only jump a few feet and the
person next to you can jump many yards – neither one of you are going to clear
the grand canyon without help.
God doesn’t expect you to be perfect, He expects you to be
obedient and faithful. Know that whether you’ve sinned and fallen short of
God’s glory a little or a lot it’s like when a power line gets broken – whether
it’s cut once or 50 times, it’s still broken and needs help being restored.
Today, quit letting your thoughts of defeat and wrong
comparisons get the best of you. That’s why Jesus came, that we could have a
relationship with the One who Created us. Turn to Him, lean on Him, and know
that He is always with you – even when you don’t feel it or see the evidence of
it.
Faith calls us to rest on His promises and believe that He
will honor them. So keep believing and seeking Him because God wouldn’t have
allowed something in your life without the full intention of using it to
somehow make you better.
